The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission includes mobile teams providing training, advice and assistance to more remote areas of Afghanistan, in support of the Afghan security forces. This operational concept is based on Expeditionary Advisory Packages (EAPs). EAPs are one part of a multi-pronged strategy that continues to increase the offensive capabilities of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces. In March 2018, 265 Resolute Support soldiers and advisors from seven contributing nations were deployed to the Afghan northern city of Maimanah as part of this mobile framework of training, advice, and assistance.
