Richard Whalen (from Rotterdam Junction, NY) is a witness to the heroics of Medal of Honor awardee, Mr. Tibor Rubin, and continues talking about his experiences in the Korean War. Cpl. Rubin was awarded the Medal of Honor by serving as an Army rifleman with Company I, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division in the Republic of Korea. He inflicted a staggering number of casualties on the attacking force during a personal 24-hour battle on a hill on the Taegu-Pusan road link. He also captured several hundred North Korean Soldiers. He was severely wounded and captured by the Chinese and chose to stay in prison camp rather than take bribes allowing him to return to his native Hungary. While in camp he risked his own life to obtain food for fellow Soldiers. Video from Soldiers Radio and Television.
