The U.S. Coast Guard transferred a High Endurance Cutter to the to the Sri Lanka Navy at USCG Base Sand Island, Honolulu, Hawaii on August 27th, 2018. U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral Michael J. Haycock, Assistant Commandant for Acquisition and Chief Acquisition Officer, and Vice Admiral Sirimevan Sarathchandra Ranasinghe, Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, spoke during ceremony. Both did a brief interview shortly afterward.
