    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

A Marine with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's Amphibious Reconnaissance Platoon and Cpl. Kevin Broderick, a scout sniper with Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, aim an M110 semi-automatic sniper system from an MH-60S Seahawk during Visit, Board, Search and Seizure training in the South China Sea, Sept. 29, 2018. During the training, ARP Marines refined their fast rope capabilities while Marines with the Security Platoon held aerial security as part of a simulated VBSS mission. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward deployed MEU, provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide-range of military operations. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl.
