FEMA Integration Teams are designed to facilitate preparedness as a culture at the lowest possible level. By embedding teams at the community level we become the help before the help arrives, so when something happens, we have people on the ground ready to ready to respond.
In North Carolina, we are working with the Incidence Management Assistance Team out of Region IV as well as the national Incident Management Assistance Team to assist them with their planning and state and federal coordination. By us being able to integrate the various components of the state emergency management offices with the many components of FEMA, we can provide new ways to help facilitate response and recovery for our states and communities.
