SCRIPT: Established more than 75 years ago. our soldiers and civilian employees make up a workforce of more than 700 dedicated personnel who have been at the center of Federal efforts to deliver vital public and military engineering service to strengthen our Nation’s security, energize the economy and reduce risks from disasters, here, across the Nation and around the world.

Bottom line: Our vision is to provide engineering solutions for some of the toughest challenges our Nation has to face - day in and day out.

We are an award winning organization with plenty of opportunity for problem solvers seeking both professional and personal satisfaction. With that in mind, we would like to spend a few minutes sharing more with you about our mission and what a career with the Tulsa District team has to offer.

Whether you’re a college student just getting ready to graduate with a degree in engineering, technology or science a hands-on individual with a background in facility maintenance or a seasoned veteran looking for a new challenge, we welcome you to consider a career with the Tulsa District Corps of Engineers and be part of our team of highly qualified professionals responsible for providing construction, engineering, public service and disaster response on a scale and level of importance most people can only imagine being part of.

But don’t just take our word for it, hear what some of our Tulsa District employees have to say about their careers and opportunities for professional development, as well as why Tulsa District truly is a great place to live, work and play.

In additional to their day-to-day work assignments, many members of our civilian workforce will find exciting opportunities to deploy across the nation in support of natural disaster and emergency operations, as well as overseas contingency operations, should they choose to do so.

Now let’s discuss a little bit more about where we work and what it is we do.

Located in the heart of south Tulsa, the District’s headquarters operates out of a multi-story facility known as CityPlex Towers, that affords stunning views of Tulsa and the surrounding area.

The tower itself features dramatic architecture, well-equipped conference rooms, modern and accessible meeting areas, as well as a large auditorium for training and special events.

Amenities at our main office also include several food service options. For example, employees and visitors will find a food court and small convenience shop, food trucks also frequently serve local specialties right outside the building.

Those who work here have access to spacious parking, a newly remodeled fitness center, with running tracks and exercise equipment available at no charge to all employees who want to work out before, during or after their normal duty day, including weekends. Of course, there are lots of nearby restaurants and shopping areas and plentiful biking, hiking and walking trails along the Arkansas River.

While many of the District’s headquarters personnel live in or near the Tulsa metro area, we also have employees assigned to numerous locations across the region, in both rural and urban settings, spanning the heartland of America from central Kansas to Oklahoma and north Texas.

So whether you dream about working outdoors in rural America, where the sky is the limit, or prefer the city life in thriving metropolitan areas, either way, you will find boundless and affordable opportunities to meet your personal and professional needs.

One of the pleasant surprises to many newcomers to this part of the country, is just how low the cost of living and affordable housing can be, as well as the very affordable tuition expenses for parents with university-aged children.

For example, Oklahoma was recently ranked by U.S.A Today as one of the top five best states for cost of living and top 6 for housing affordability.

And of course, if you’re interested in sports and recreation, for both the young and young at heart you will find it a wide selection of athletic activities from which to choose.

Now, we would be remiss if we didn’t discuss some of the finer things in life, like the good old fashioned food you’ll find around just about every corner… or the modern art and music scene to be discovered in places like Tulsa's Brady Arts District, and perhaps most importantly, the rich American Indian tribal history and way of life that helped shape the fabric of our communities by creating a rich and captivating blend of cultures and traditions.

Those living here will find a wide variety of historic and educational opportunities within close proximity of where they work and live.

At the end of the day, there are a number of great reasons to join our U.S. Army team of soldiers and civilian employees working on the Tulsa District Team… so if you are on your way, newly arrived or considering taking on an assignment at our district headquarters or one field offices throughout the region we support.
