2nd Lt. Sarah Beard, an Danville, Indiana native, sends an Army shout out back home. Beard is a member of the U.S. Army's World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) who has been assigned to specifically compete on the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's International Rifle Team, which is located at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Beard, who has helped earn the U.S.A. Shooting(USAS) and the U.S. Olympic Committee an Olympic quota slot for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, just recently set a national record in the women's 3x40 Small-bore Rifle event at the 2018 USAS Fall Selection Match with a world-class score!
In November, Beard collected two gold medals at the 2018 Championship of the Americas(CAT) games. She is a four-time NCAA All-American while at Texas Christian University (TCU) and is the daughter of 1984 U.S. Olympian Bill Beard.
