10th Mountain Division (LI) partnered with Naval Medical Center Portsmouth to successfully conduct their 5th annual Operation Commanding Force, a joint medical exercise that allows Navy Reserve corpsmen to train with active duty Army medics. In addition to medical training, the Navy Reservists also worked with Army personnel to hone skills like land navigation and convoy operations.
The 10th Mountain Division Surgical Team with medics from the 10th Brigade Support Battalion, 10th Mountain Division helped staff the two-week event that was held at Fort Drum's Medical Simulation Training Facility. The goal of the exercise was to provide realistic training to medical personnel to help prepare them for possible deployments that embeds the corpsmen around the world.
