US Army Soldiers from the 66th Military Intelligence Brigade participate in pugil stick bouts as a part of their morning physical training session on Clay Kaserne, Wiesbaden, Germany.
Pugil sticks have been used in Army combat training since World War II. The bouts help Soldiers to get a feel for fighting with rifles and hand-to-hand combat. The training also increases readiness, as well as individual confidence and unit morale.
