Indiana Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Frank Vergara shares his experience as a Filipino native, distinguished Soldier and cancer survivor on May 24, 2018.
In April 2015, Sgt. 1st Class Vergara, an Afghanistan war veteran, was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer shortly after his daughter was born. Against all odds, three years later Vergara discovered he was in complete remission. (U.S. Army National Guard video by Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Runser)
