The U.S. Army has vital war stocks prepositioned in locations around the world. This equipment and materiel, called Army Prepositioned Stocks, is ready to issue, rapidly reducing the response times of deploying modular, expeditionary Army units. One of the Army's prepositioned stock storage facilities is located in the Republic of Korea. The Army recently tested its ability to issue and field some of these stocks during an exercise in the RoK in December 2018.
