Three Soldiers with the 224th Transportation Company responded during a winter storm emergency Feb.7, utilizing a specialized vehicle to rescue stranded motorists near Olivia during an intense blizzard. The rescue operations were done in coordination with the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, using one of several Small Unit Support Vehicles strategically placed at Minnesota National Guard armories across the state to support emergency operations where traditional transportation is not possible.
