The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) recently went through an integrated ship and shore force damage control drill. The drill, conducted during a ship's maintenance availability, included Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) personnel, San Diego Federal Firefighters and ship's company, and was designed to test the crew's ability to integrate fire and emergency response efforts with civilian, base and federal fire services. Bonhomme Richard is in its homeport of San Diego.
