Marine Barracks Washington is home to the Official Color Guard Platoon, which is unique because it is the only Marine Color Guard that carries the Marine Corps Battle Colors. The Marine Corps Battle Colors have 54 streamers, which represent more than 400 U.S. and foreign awards as well as all campaigns in which Marines have participated - from the American Revolution to the present. The platoon includes the Commandant’s Four, the official Color Guard for the Marine Corps. This group of Marines march in high-visibility events across the nation throughout the year. For the past few weeks, the Marines on the Commandant’s Four have been at MCAS Yuma training and perfecting their drill in preparation for the hundreds of events they will support throughout the rest of the year.
