U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Kyle Quach flies an A-10 Thunderbolt II for a simulated close air support mission in the Philippines during Exercise Balikatan, April 9, 2019. Balikatan is an annual exercise between the U.S. and Philippines and comes from a Tagalog phrase meaning "shoulder-to-shoulder," representing the partnership between the two countries. The exercise promotes regional security and humanitarian efforts for U.S. allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
