Fort Benning is the birthplace and home of the Airborne and to celebrate its rich heritage, the Atlanta Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division sponsored a three-day event in recognition of the 2019 Airborne Awards Festival.
The Liberty Jump Team dressed in Army uniforms from World War II to present boarded a vintage C-47 Skytrain called the Placid Lassie, a World War II history plane that flew paratroopers into combat during D-Day.
