IHMA is a fast and durable technology for pavement and airfield repair. ERDC's technology and method enhances war fighter logistic capabilities by quickly repairing damaged airfields and roads, even in remote locations.The Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory’s induction technology heats pre-packaged, quality asphalt mix to hot asphalt temperatures in less than five minutes, offering quality field repairs in any season. The technology results in superior performance, with more than 90 percent time savings compared to other heating methods.
