Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Reserve, Ted L Copeland, visits Soldiers during Guardian Response 19 at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Indiana, May 13,2019. Sergeant Major Copeland briefs enlisted soldiers on the upcoming change to the Army Combat Fitness Test, uniforms and promotions. Copeland also spent time in the field to observe the Army Reserve Soldiers training for a potential disaster. Guardian Response is a multi-component training exercise that validates U.S. Army units’ ability to support the Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) in the event of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) catastrophe. Soldiers train on a wide variety of tasks to include decontamination points, search and rescue operations, medical evacuations, and mortuary affairs.
