The 199th is commonly referred to as the leader brigade. That's because it operates various schools that provide leadership training for noncommissioned officers and officers who serve in the Infantry and Armor branches.
Over the next two years, the brigade is expected to train more than 11,000 leaders for the Army's Infantry and Armor Forces.
