Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton personnel have been busy this year refreshing the over 160 miles of firebreaks at various locations throughout the base these fire breaks are designed to better manage fires on the installation by cutting off the spread of fires. Every year MCB Camp Pendleton encounters more than 100 fires that burn thousands of acres. Firebreaks created and maintained with bulldozers and road graders are essential to mitigating property damage and loss of life on and off base. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Noah Rudash)
