In direct support of the 2018 National Defense Strategy and the Fight the Naval Force Forward Task Force, the Naval Research and Development Establishment (NR&DE) solicited mature, fieldable prototypes from industry, academia, and government entities to participate in an iterative and progressive series of exercises dedicated to advancing IW, Strike, Maneuver, Logistics and Force Protection-focused tactics and technologies.
As the forward looking command within Combat Development and Integration, Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory Futures Directorate (MCWL/FD) identifies future challenges and opportunities, develops operating concepts, and comprehensively explores force design options through wargaming, testing and experimentation in order to inform the combat development process and address the warfighting challenges of the future operating environment.
