NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 24, 2019) Weapons department aboard USS Gerald R. Ford moved the first munitions on the advanced weapons elevators. This evolution allowed hands-on training to the weapons crew with an inert GBU-10 2,000-pound bomb model common to the fleet. Ford is currently undergoing its post-shakedown availability at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding.
