The Pennsylvania National Guard provided a CH-47 Chinook and other helicopters Aug. 15 in support of Pennsylvania's Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (HART) and other state, local and federal agencies for a full-scale exercise simulating a hurricane on the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg. Soldiers fly the Chinook to a simulated casualty while HART members are lowered from the center hoist, retrieve the casualty, and hoisted into the helicopter and flown to safety.
