Volunteers have been working to refurbish a piece of Ramstein history. This F-4 Phantom arrived in Europe in 1969 and was assigned to the 86th Tactical Fighter Wing (now the 86th Airlift wing). After flying from 1970-1973 it was decommissioned and used as a ground trainer for 25 more years.
