Six CH-47 Chinook helicopters departed Muir Army Airfield, Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa. Sep. 5, transporting 53 Pennsylvania Army National Guard Soldiers to Texas to prepare for their upcoming movement overseas.
The Soldiers are assigned to Bravo and Delta Companies, 2nd General Support Battalion, 104th Aviation Regiment, 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, 28th Infantry Division. They and their families were honored during a deployment ceremony at Fort Indiantown Gap prior to their departure to Texas.
The 2-104th GSAB members are mobilizing in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, the mission succeeding Operation Enduring Freedom, in continuation of the Global War on Terrorism. They are mobilizing to the Middle East to support aviation operations.
