A 25 foot long Vietnamese sampan captured in 1968 during Operation Flankspeed during the Vietnam War is the focus of this video footage. The sampan has never before been exhibited to the public; and was previously housed in the Naval History and Heritage Command's collections management facility. Prior to the artifact being transported and displayed, it was cleaned and stabilized by museum conservators. The artifact is part of a larger exhibit that is scheduled to open at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum on October 9, 2019 and is titled "The Ten Thousand Day War at Sea: the US Navy in Vietnam, 1950-1975" (US Navy Video by Max Lonzanida/Released).
