The Hawaii National Guard (HING) State Partnership Program (SPP) brings a year of multinational professional military development engagements to a close during GEMA BHAKTI 19 (GB19) Staff Exercise (STAFFEX). GB19 serves as a culminating event for the HING SPP who has facilitated 22 international engagements with the TNI in 2019. GEMA BHAKTI is a staff exercise that focuses on planning large scale multinational military maneuvers and includes elements of each of the SPP engagement held through-out 2019. These engagements ranged from Search and Extraction to Operational Design. The exercise highlights operational and cultural differences and similarities between the nations military establishments and their branches.

GEMA BHAKTI has evolved though-out its seven iterations, having gone from a simple table top exercise to this full combined STAFFEX. The plan is to continue growing the exercise to a CPX and Field Training Exercise (FTX) held in multiple locations through out Indonesia in the next few years.
