U.S. Marines with the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command conduct a site survey of a local hospital as a part of an exercise with the Colombian Marines on Base de Entrenamiento de Infanteria de Marina, Coveñas, Colombia, Sept. 30, 2019. The U.S. and Colombian Marines began a week-long humanitarian assistance and disaster relief rehearsal and subject matter expert exchange on Colombia's Caribbean coast. The exercise will test and strengthen the interoperability and responsiveness between these countries, preparing for real-world disaster scenarios in the region. The task force is in the region conducting training and engineering projects hand-in-hand with partner nation military members in Latin America and the Caribbean during their deployment, which coincides with hurricane season.
