Soldiers with the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, honor the 69th annual Burning of the Colors ceremony Dec. 5th, on Bulldog field, Fort Bliss, TX. The ceremony is in memorial of those lost during the Korean War Battle of Kunu-Ri in which the battalion commander, Lt. Col. Alarich Zacherle, instructed his Soldiers to burn the battalion colors to prevent them to become a Chinese war trophy. This patriotic act serves as a reminder of selfless service and sacrifice.
Interview: Lt. Col. Jeremiah J. Willis, commander of the 2nd Brigade Engineer Battalion.
