12th CAB held its annual Kinderheim event Saturday, Dec. 7 on Katterbach Kaserne. Every December for almost 40 years, American families from the Ansbach area have sponsored children from the local orphanage to ensure they have a good Christmas season. Children and families enjoyed time together all day, and bowling was an especially big hit. The Ansbach Spouses and Civilians Club, that sponsors this event, provided food and games for the entire day.
This type of support to local orphanages is only possible thanks to the devotion of volunteers like Veronica Bischoff. Veronica met her son Marcel at the Katterbach Kinderheim event 13 years ago when he was just 6 years old and adopted him 2 years later. He is now 19 years old and helps his mother volunteer at the Kinderheim event every year. Listen to their story.
