Lead: For a number of years the 173rd Fighter Wing in Klamath Falls, Oregon has traded services with the 162nd Fighter Wing in Tucson, Arizona. Each of the bases boasts excellent flying weather but at certain times of the year the weather can interrupt that breifily. summer weather in Tucson sees temps climb to a 120-degrees or even higher, conversely winters at Kingsley Field can bring a heavy snow or two. Master Sergeant Jeff Thompson tells us that for a number of years the 173rd flies south in the winter and the 162nd flies north in the summer, something both enjoy and profit from.
