Col. Andrew Purath, 11th Wing Commander, speaks about Senate Bill 280 to the Maryland Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee in Annapolis, Md., March 26, 2019. Maryland is one of many states that are pushing such legislation to allow for military spouses to either have expedited licensing, or more flexible rules. For service members, veterans, or military spouses in Maryland, this bill would allow for a permanent license to be granted if the member came to the state and has held a valid license in good standing issued in another state for at least one year.
