40 years ago the USA Hockey team beat the Soviet Union during the 1980
Olympics to win the Gold. Team USA Coach, Herb Brooks, drove the mindset of
the team to one goal: we play as and for one team; fighting something
bigger than ourselves. He often asked the team "Who do you play for?" with
the expected response, "AMERICA!" That mindset and spirit holds true today.
The captain and crew aboard USS America (LHA 6) celebrate Team USA's
monumental win by asking "Who do you play for? AMERICA!"
