Soldiers from the U.S. Army’s 1st Special Forces Group in 2018 were in Nepal for training with the elite Nepalese Army Mahabir Rangers and during some downtime they were hiking and came across a man suffering from a life threatening infection after breaking his ankle. The team medic used local honey due to a lack of conventional antibiotics to treat the injury. In September of 2019 the same team was back in Nepal and trekked out to see how the man was doing and found he had made a full recovery. Adaptation is one of the keys to SOF success anywhere around the globe.
