U.S. Air Force Maj. Annie Cloud, a flight nurse with the Delaware Air National Guard's 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, joins military and civilian medical professionals in establishing an alternate care site, or ACS, at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. Staffed by personnel from the Delaware National Guard, A.I. duPont Hospital, Christiana Care, and St. Francis Healthcare, the ACS, located in the Nemours gymnasium, was converted for health care use to help reduce the burden on nearby hospital amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Wilmington-based ACS, a state-managed facility supported by the federal government, has an initial complement of 38 beds for non-COVID-19 adults with low-acuity conditions.
