CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti - Cmdr. Chris Kneen, command chaplain at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, explains the history of the National Day of Prayer, which takes place May 7, 2020. On April 17, 1952, President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law in the United States. President Reagan amended the law in 1988, designating the first Thursday of May each year as the National Day of Prayer. Camp Lemonnier is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia.(Video/Production by MC2 Marquis Whitehead)
