Medical professionals with Expeditionary Medical Facility - M are highlighted for their efforts in honor of Nurses Week 2020. Nurses Week is held annually from May 6 - 12. The week culminates with International Nurses Day which was chosen in recognition of the birth date of Florence Nightingale; the founder of modern nursing. This year was also designated as The Year of the Nurse by the World Health Organization in recognition of nurses' contributions to healthcare, the risks associated with nursing shortages, and the 200th anniversary of Nightingale's birthday. EMF-M coordinates closely with state, local, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of their personnel and the local population.
