Spc. Phillip Jungman, a Caldwell, Texas native who is an instructor/shooter with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, was recently selected for a spot on Team USA in the Skeet event for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Jungman started shooting in 4H at the age of eight and excelled in skeet, earning a number of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals on both the national and world level as a junior.
In 2016, Jungman was selected as an alternate for the Olympic Games. That close, but not close of enough spot, made Jungman focus even more on training.
Now, after a two-part Olympic Trial, this Soldier has achieved his dream of making it on an Olympic Team. In 2021, Jungman will represent USA Shooting, the U.S. Army and the entire Nation at the delayed 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
This interview is some basic Q & A with him.
