The U.S. Army Kansas City Medical Recruiting Station coordinated with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry to conduct a virtual commissioning ceremony for two U.S. Army Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) students and one U.S. Navy HPSP student.
The 28th Chief of the U.S. Army Dental Corps, Brig. Gen. Shan K. Bagby administered the oath of office as the ceremony was broadcasted at two locations, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and Oakland Park, Kansas, for inclusion in the UMKC-School of Dentistry Class of 2020 Commencement Ceremony, online, May 15.
The Kansas City Medical Recruiting Station is one of 14 medical recruiting stations assigned to the 5th Medical Recruiting Battalion, which is committed to recruiting high-quality health care professionals for the U.S. Army. The 5th Medical Recruiting Battalion provides oversight to 14 Army medical recruiting stations and one Army chaplain recruiting station across 10 states in the country’s central-plains region to support the Army’s critical medical and chaplain accession requirements.
