Brennan Gallagher, an H-C130J Combat King II airplane pilot and weapons officer assigned to the 71st Rescue Squadron, U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Jake Armstrong, a combat rescue officer assigned to the 58th Rescue Squadron, and U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Michael Thompson, the 45th Operations Group Detachment 3 (Det 3) Commander, all discuss their roles within the Department of Defense Human Space Flight Support Operations Task Force 45. Task Force 45/Det 3 supports the Crew Demo 2 and other Commercial Crew Program (CCP) missions by providing a team of U.S. Air Force Pararescuemen and Combat Rescue Officers on alert at Patrick AFB, Fla., (near the launch site), Joint Base Charleston, S.C., and Joint Base Pearl Harbor, Hickam, Hawaii.
