Chaplain (Col.) Delbert Kuehl and Chaplain (Maj.) George Wood, who both honarably served in the 82nd Airborne Division during WWII were posthumously inducted in to the 82nd Airborne Division's 3rd annual Hall of Fame at a ceremony held on July 9th 2020 on Fort Bragg, NC. Chaplain (Col.) Delbert Kuehl participated in Operation Market Garden, and volunteered to accompany his unit while crossing the Waal River. Chaplain (Maj.) George Wood is the only chaplain in U.S. history who made four combat jumps: Sicily, Salerno, Normandy and Holland. The host of ceremony was Maj. Gen. James Mingus, Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne Division. Visiting Chaplain (Maj. Gen.) Thomas Solhjem U.S. Army Chief of Chaplains met with the inductees' family members after the ceremony, and spoke on the contributions the inductees had on the Army. He highlighted on interview, the significance and rarity for Chaplains to recieve this level of recognition.
