The Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District biologists’ Katie Lewis and Josh Unghire visited the Buffalo River Submerged Aquatic Vegetation site to discuss the recently completed installation of in-water structures that will help restore natural aquatic habitat along the river’s shoreline.
In-water features included locked logs and rootwads, and the planting of submerged and emergent vegetation.
Submerged Aquatic Vegetation is a rare example of aquatic and near-shore habitat in the urban core.
