Members of the 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron deployed from Whiteman AFB, Missouri, and local national contractors unload the cargo at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, to support the bomber task force mission, Aug 12, 2020. Over 200 members from Team Whiteman deployed along with part of the Whiteman AFB B-2 Spirit fleet as part of bomber task force, which tests the readiness of the Airmen and equipment that support it, as well as their collective ability to operate at forward locations. U.S. Strategic Command routinely conducts such operations across the globe to demonstrate U.S. commitment to collective defense as these aircraft, Airmen and key support equipment integrate with U.S. Indo-Pacific Command operations and activities.
