As part of the Dallas Floodway Bipartisan Act Supplemental Project, USACE Fort Worth, in partnership with the City of Dallas, is building new pump stations and refurbishing existing pump stations to give increased flood protection to the citizens of Dallas. In this video Sarvi Ashraf, Lead Engineer for the Dallas Supplemental; Robert Powell, Dallas Floodway Operations Manager; and Sarah Standifer, Assistant Director for Dallas Water Utilities talk about the nearly complete Able Pump Station, the largest pump station on the Trinity River, which is undergoing testing by the City of Dallas. As an integral part of the city’s interior drainage and flood control system, these pump stations move water from the city, over the levees into the river.
