Airman with the 388th Fighter Wing load munitions onto F-35As during Combat Hammer at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Aug. 12, 2020. Combat Hammer is an in-depth weapons evaluation conducted by the 86th Fighter Weapons Squadron. The evaluation is part of the Air Force’s Weapons System Evaluation Program, or WSEP.
The 86th FWS is the single DOD agency charged with conducting predictive battle damage analysis of precision guided munitions using operational weapons, aircraft, maintenance personnel and aircrew.
Aircraft involved in this evaluation included F-35As from Hill and Nellis AFB, B-1s from Ellsworth AFB and MQ-9s from Creech AFB. (U.S. Air Force video by R. Nial Bradshaw)
