The 559th Flying Training Squadron began evaluating a new immersive training device Feb. 8 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. The ITD uses virtual reality technology that simulates the feeling of being in flight. The new ITD will give undergraduate pilot training students and instructor pilots the ability to perform flight administration, cross-checking, task management, and other critical competencies that are required for dynamic flight.
