Active-duty and ballistic missile submariners discuss their favorite aspects of submarine service, including the close ties among crews. The submarine community is renowned for is camaraderie, fostered in part by the immense trust submariners must place in one another.
These interviews were conducted by the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum in 2016 for use in the museum’s new long-term exhibit “Preserving Peace: The Navy’s Strategic Deterrence Program.” The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum is one of ten official U.S. Navy museums within the Naval History and Heritage Command.
