USNS Gy. Sgt. Fred W. Stockham Contracted Mariners Remember WWI Namesake
As the nation observes the inaugural flag raising ceremony at the newly constructed World War I memorial, Military Sealift Command’s contracted mariners, like Darvin Brown on board USNS Gy. Sgt. Fred W. Stockham (T-AK 3017), salute the ship’s namesake. Stockham served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War I and earned the Medal of Honor for his sacrificial actions.
