Lt. Cmdr. Patricia "Pat" Cunanan enlisted in the Navy as a Boiler Technician in 1994. She was comissioned through the Limited Duty Officer program on April 1, 2010 after becoming a Chief Petty Officer in 2007. Lt. Cmdr. Cunanan is currently serving as the first female chief engineer aboard the older operational warship in the Navy, USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19).
