Lieutenant General Thomas Metz, Commander of III Corps and Multinational Corps-Iraq, speaks at annual Association of the United States Army meeting. Gives special recognition to the Fort Hood NCO and Soldier of the Year. Thanks audience for support Soldiers, familiies, and AUSA. Recognized the Central Texas Chapter for winning 15 national-level awards. LTG says sustainment of current membership base is a necessity; people are not renewing membership especially deployed Soldiers. This is the time when AUSA is really needed. He emphasizes military spouses and civilians can also become members. Acknowledges Department of the Army civilian contractors for keeping Fort Hood running during deployment.
